I'm about to confess something that will probably shock you:

I bought fabric for the first time yesterday.

I know! Can you believe it? I went to Jo Ann Fabrics, and I wasn't even sure how to buy it (do they cut it for me?) The woman probably thought I was crazy. Ha!
{Big shout out to Miss Mustard Seed, because I first fell in love with the fabric
when I saw it on her drapes!}

Since I was feeling wild, I decided to kick it up another notch and buy a staple gun too! My husband, who has every tool known to man, told me he had one...but I'd have to wait for him to find it later.

Later?! I had a little project in mind, and obviously I needed to do it immediately.

What was this emergency which sent me to both the fabric store and the tool aisle at Target?

These chairs!  I have 4 total, thanks to my former next-door neighbor.  She gave them to me when she moved.

Neighbor: "Do you want the chairs?"
(simultaneously)
Husband: "No!"
Me: "Of course!"

A little fabric and some staples later, and voila!
I'll probably paint them white at some point, because we have a lot of dark wood furniture in our little house, but for now I'd say it's an improvement:
Here's a close-up of the fabric.  Not bad for $12/yard!
Yeah, I should have turned the bird the other way, but I kind of like it like this:

Saw your post on House of Hepworths. You've come to the dark side...the fabric store. :) The chairs look great!

Thanks Micki! There were so many great choices...luckily I can't sew, so that may limit my purchases. ;-)

I love the fabric choice! I just covered my first chair a few months ago and I love the idea. Now to find more chairs =)

Thanks Jaime! I like it too, but I'm worried about what I'm going to do with four more chairs around here!

They look great...adore your fabric choice. Now that you know how to work that staple gun, you'll be ordering fabric left and right...

There is nothing better than finding the perfect piece of fabric. No turning back now!! :-)

Yup, you are so like me. My husband too has every tool known to man, but I can never find what I need. So my kitchen has my very own tool drawer, and my potting bench has a tool bin. :) I bought a staple gun and now have to hide it from my hubby 'cause of his four, only one works. lol
Anyway, love how the chairs turned out! I recovered our dining room chairs a couple years ago, don't like them any more so want to do them again. And I plan on painting the whole set...yes chalk paint. I did love the small night stand I experimented with, especially after I added the dark wax! Now that was a step I'm glad I added. You give me inspiration to get moving on this sooner now that I've seen your set finished! Great job!!
